Our Commitment
We believe every job can and should be done safely, with no shortcuts that put anyone at risk. Across all of our plumbing, gas and air conditioning work, we are committed to:
- Working within the law and to recognised Australian standards
- Identifying and controlling hazards before any work begins
- Protecting customers, household members and the public from harm
- Keeping work areas safe, clean and properly secured
- Only carrying out work we are licensed and qualified to do
Keeping Our Customers and Their Homes Safe
Most of our work happens inside people's homes, so the safety of the household comes first. We isolate water and gas safely before we start, keep work areas tidy and clear of trip hazards, and leave every appliance and connection in a safe condition.
Where a job uncovers a safety risk, such as a gas fault, we make the situation safe and explain it to you plainly before we leave.
Gas and Carbon Monoxide Safety
Gas work carries particular risks, so we treat it with the seriousness it deserves. All gas work is carried out to the AS/NZS 5601 gas standard by a licensed gas fitter, and we stay alert to the signs of carbon monoxide and unsafe combustion. If we find a gas appliance that is not safe, we advise you not to use it until it has been put right.
Air Conditioning and Refrigerant Safety
Refrigerant has to be handled carefully and lawfully. Our air conditioning work is carried out by an ARC-licensed technician, with refrigerant handled and recovered under the national refrigerant handling licence scheme, which protects both your household and the environment.
Licensed, Qualified and Compliant
Safe work starts with qualified people. Every job is carried out by a licensed tradesperson, and the business is fully insured, including public liability.
Daniel Simms holds a Certificate IV in Plumbing and Gas, and the business carries a Builders Licence BLD341932 and an ARC refrigerant handling licence AU066279.
Our work is regulated by the Office of the Technical Regulator, and as a South Australian business, we operate in line with the state's work health and safety laws.
Working Safely On Site
We expect safe work from our own team just as firmly as we promise it to our customers. That means taking reasonable care for their own safety and the safety of others, using the right tools and protective equipment for the task at hand, and stopping work whenever a situation becomes unsafe. Safety is never traded off against speed.
A Shared Responsibility
Keeping a work site safe is easiest when everyone plays a part. You can help by letting us know about any known hazards in your home, keeping children and pets clear of the work area, and giving our team safe access to where they need to be. We will always do our part to keep the risk as low as reasonably possible.
Reviewing This Policy
We keep this policy under regular review, so it continues to reflect the way we work and the standards we are held to. If you have any questions about our approach to health and safety, you are welcome to get in touch.
Run by our family, for your family.
